Ryan OBE 53rd Conference: Shrigley Hall Hotel, Pott Shrigley Sunday April 28 – Thursday May 2, 2013 “Supramolecular Assembly” Programme Chairmen: Professor Andy Cooper and Dr Aline Miller Dear Colleague, Following this year’s highly successful 2012 conference that marked the 52nd meeting of the High Polymer Research Group, HPRG Council have organized another outstanding scientific programme for the 2013 conference. As is traditional with the HPRG, some of the world's leading scientists will be reviewing developments in the subject and presenting their current work. The 2013 programme showing Speakers and presentation titles is attached. On behalf of the Organising Committee, I am delighted to invite you to attend the 53rd meeting and to participate in discussions. The meeting will occupy the working days Monday, April 29th, to Wednesday, May 1st, 2013, inclusive. The combined fee for Registration and Accommodation, which includes all meals, is £650. After 1st February 2013 the fee increases to £690. The High Polymer Research Group exists to promote and to encourage research on polymer science by the organisation of annual private conferences. Attendance is by invitation of the Organising Committee: invitations are personal and are not normally transferable. This year the conference will again be held at Shrigley Hall Hotel, Pott Shrigley, Cheshire. The venue is a 4* hotel (www.pumahotels.co.uk) on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Scientific sessions take place in the morning and late afternoon, leaving the early afternoon free for informal discussion or recreation: the hotel has a golf course and a leisure centre with swimming pool and gymnasium. Walking and other activities are available in the National Park. Rooms are for single occupancy, or for sharing with an accompanying person, and all have an en suite bathroom and telephone point with free wi-fi access. The Registration Fee covers full board for the period from Dinner on the evening of Sunday, April 28th, through to breakfast on the morning of Thursday, May 2nd (and includes the Conference Dinner on Wednesday, May 1st). Except for some free drinks at the Conference Banquet on the Wednesday evening, drinks are not included in the fee. If you wish to bring a guest who does not attend the scientific programme, the extra fee is £360 for accommodation and meals. The upgraded HPRG website www.highpolymer.org.uk gives further details of the location of the conference, of the Speakers Programme, of travel, the Trustees and other information. To accept this invitation, please download and complete the Provisional Registration Form attached to this e-mail (either electronically or manually) and return it to me as soon as possible. The conference organisers have been allocated 140 rooms for Invited Attendees (including rooms for Speakers) and this cannot be exceeded: so confirmation to attend the conference is on a “first-come first-served” basis, subject to receipt of registration payment. Payment: The Registration Fee is payable in full in STERLING on acceptance of this invitation. Payment must be made in favour of the "High Polymer Research Group"; the Group is NOT registered for VAT. Your payment can be by: (i) Personal cheque. (ii) Institution cheque: please ensure that your institution clearly identifies on whose behalf the payment cheque is issued as each year we receive unidentified cheques from institutions from which several people have been invited. (iii) Direct electronic payment – bank details are given on the enclosed sheet. (iv) With credit cards via PayPal using the HPRG website: see the website for details: www.highpolymer.org.uk/registration.php . Note that the charges for using this method of payment are to be paid by the invitee and not the Conference. In the event that a registration is cancelled the Secretary should be contacted as soon as possible. Attempts will be made to find replacements for cancellations.
