KOREA-ITALY Symposium on APPLICATIONS OF COMPOSITES AND FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS
September 2 (Th), 2010, 12:00-18:00
International Cooperation Building
Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Seoul, Korea
The World is facing new challenges and among others is the needs to develop new materials from renewable sources. Nowadays it is crucial to develop new technologies able to provide a sustainable long-term solution to new industrial-economic and social needs.
New multifunctional Polymers and Composite materials, mainly at nano-micro level, represent a suitable answer: the latest technological developments are towards the creation of so-called “intelligent” materials, that are able to react to changes in the immediate environment built in different sectors (aeronautic, building etc.).
Recent development in polymeric/composite materials technology and infrastructure management are considered crucial for the advancement in many industrial sectors.
Korean and Italian Scientists will jointly explore the new generations of advanced materials and will discuss new challenges in this fields having a strategic relevance for a sustainable economic growth and a social welfare.
