4. Abstract :

Characteristics of wavelength-scale, low-loss photonic crystal lasers are reviewed.Low-threshold lasing characteristics from wavelength-size, triangular- and square-lattice, single-cell, nondegenerate, photonic crystal resonant modes are explained. Several schemes to control the efficiency and the direction of photon-coupling out of the ultra-small photonic crystal resonators will also be discussed.
